Janet & John opened in August 2013. Not only are our names Janet and John (Turner), but we also felt that the shop name fitted in with the retro feel of the other shops on the upper floor of De Courcy’s arcade. After all, most children in the 1950s and early 60s learned to read using “Janet and John” books.
We provide a retail outlet for many of the artists and crafters we have met at craft fairs across Scotland’s central belt. Janet benefited from selling her knitting at a gallery in the Highlands, but struggled to find a similar outlet in Glasgow. So we thought we would create one ourselves.
We sell a range of unique, hand-crafted items to suit all pockets, including: fine art, prints, cards, hand knitting, hand-made buttons, electronic gadget cases, decoupage, ceramics, mugs, jewellery, stained glasswork, woodwork, photography and much, much more…
